Leaning In
It’s been a sweet weekend sharing music, living on mission.
I love working in the studio, but I work so hard there to share these songs in person with you live. I want more rooms to share music. This is my mission ‘bullseye’ - seeing people encouraged, moved, hope filling their eyes, peace covering their face…a reflection of what’s happening in the heart.
This is why I do what I do...this is what I long to do more of...more rooms...more people...more hope shared. Whenever I get a taste of doing this it only fuels my passion and desire to do it more - for greater effectiveness. My heart is so big with passion for the mission I’m on, serving others as a hope-bringer.
Yet, sometimes I can get discouraged feeling like my labor is in vain, that I’ve spent my passion for naught. My dreams are sky high and my reality can fall short of these expectations. The struggle and tension is real. Can you relate?
Today a friend reminded me to continue to lean in, that living on mission is less about the circumstances and more about the heart. A timely word I needed to hear. It struck me so deeply, I wondered if anyone else needs this reminder right now too? Do you need to hear this today???
Futility can fuel faithfulness. Just because it’s not easy doesn’t mean it’s not right. With every obstacle there is an opportunity for growth. This is why it’s important to keep leaning in.
I love this quote from one of my favorite books, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle:
“The wound is the place where the light enters you.- Rumi, Persian”
So, I’m here today cheering you on, because cheering you on is something I’m made to do. I’m leaning in, reminding you to lean in and press on towards the passions that ignite your heart. Don’t be discouraged by the small beginnings.
A bruised reed He will not break and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out. (Isaiah 42:3)
Take heart and take courage my dear friends. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. You are running your race well…keep going…
