MADE FOR LOVE
Let’s talk about the pressures we feel in our culture.
There seems to be a million ways we’re doing it wrong and a million more ways to tell us how to do it right—often these prescribed methods contradict each other. The rat race seems so complicated and for most of us (okay probably all of us!) it’s not even the race we want to be in anyway.
So many of the rules we give ourselves and the expectations we place on others are arbitrary. Our interactions can be so much more simple and meaningful if they're summed up with one word: LOVE.
What if we make this our #1 focus and goal? How would our lives, our tasks, our interactions be different if whatever we do is done in love?
I know this sounds like an oversimplification, but perhaps this is because we’ve grown so used to the overcomplication of how we should be living.
We can quickly get so focused on being "right" that we often miss the bigger picture of thinking about what is "loving" and acting accordingly.
Now, as I parent, I find myself saying this to our kids all the time (and feeling convicted about the reminder coming out of my own mouth!).
It really IS less about being right and more about being loving. This is the example Jesus shows us with every interaction He had. I can’t find a single example to the contrary. This is part of the big problem the Pharisees had with Him!!! They wanted to focus more on being right, He wanted to focus more on being loving… and they were fuming as a result.
How would our homes, schools, politics and churches be different if we really lived as though we were more concerned with loving others well instead of being right?
And what about how we treat ourselves? Our own drip of inner thoughts that exploit our shortcomings and failures hindering us from loving ourselves well. These negative thoughts are self-destructive. Instead we should be celebrating God’s unique design we each carry within ourselves.
We see the wounds and overlook the wonders.
But…
❤️
What if you could be free from all the wounds you’ve carried?
They’ve held you down for so long and made you feel you were wrong.
❤️
You were made for goodness, for sharing in abundance.
Are you some where resigning to fear and insecurity?
❤️
What if it’s less about being right?
What if it’s more about spreading light?
Think of all you could take hold of living like it’s more about love.
❤️
Are you a contradiction?
Misguided in conviction?
Belittled in the ideals?
Losing sight of what is real?
❤️
What if it’s less about being right?
What if it’s more about spreading light?
Think of all you could take hold of living like it’s more about love.
❤️
You were made for love.
Love is your perfect alibi.
You were made for love.
❤️
Lay down your defenses.
You’ve been your own worst critic.
Lay hold of the freedom as love is your beacon.
❤️
You were made for love.
You were made for love.
❤️
